Khamhardih police station of Yapur was surrounded by members of Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Monday. This demonstration was held after a video of hooliganism by youths of a community went viral. Activists allege that the police is biased in this case and deliberately imposed lighter sections on the accused.

The protesters blocked the road and sat in front of the police station and started reciting Hanuman Chalisa. They have completely blocked the road. Due to which common people also had to face problems. The workers also warned of shutting down Raipur if strict action was not taken.

In fact, the protesters allege that the police took biased action in the assault on Santosh Jain on January 26. Because of which the court released him on bail. The protesting people have demanded from the police that the criminals should be re-arrested and sent to jail under serious sections as per the crime. If action is not taken, we will shut down Raipur.

During this demonstration, Vishva Hindu Parishad’s provincial co-secretary Ghanshyam Chaudhary said that strict action should be taken against such criminals. In serious cases like this, there should be no whitewashing. We are giving an ultimatum of 48 hours to the administration to take concrete action against the criminals, otherwise Raipur will be closed. What is the whole matter?

Victim Santosh Jain had lodged an FIR at Khamhardih police station on 26 January. He told the police that he was passing through Avanti Vihar Main Road at around quarter to 12 in the night. During this time, there was an argument with two youths regarding driving the car at over speed. After this Santosh returned to his home. Following him, both the youths Atib Baula and Anas Baula along with their friends reached his house.

Abuse and vandalism outside the society

Both the youths reached outside Virasat Society and started abusing heavily. He started searching for Santosh Jain and his family to beat him. During this, they vandalized the vehicles kept in front of the house. They also threw stones at the windows of the house, broke the glass and started banging the door.

When Santosh Jain came out of the house and refused to do so, the youth started fighting. Meanwhile, a young man attacked Santosh, the jack of the car, on his head, due to which he bled. Hearing the noise during the fight, the residents of the colony also gathered at the spot. Both the parties lodged a complaint.
