Raipur29 May 2020. Ajit Jogi, the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, after his long illness, said goodbye to the world today. There have been many occasions when he has also come back from the mouth of death. Let’s take a look at his entire career.
First Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh
When Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government separated from Madhya Pradesh and gave Chhattisgarh statehood, Ajit Jogi became the first chief minister there. One of his statements at that time is very popular, “Yes, I am a dream merchant and I sell dreams.” However, in the remaining assembly elections, the people of the state did not accept their dream purchase.
He lost the election from Shahdol Lok Sabha seat in 1999, but after that when the new state was formed, there was such an equation in the local Congress that Jogi got the chance to become CM. He held this position from 2000 to 2003 assembly elections, but again, he could not return to this post. Earlier, from 1986 to 1998, the Congress placed him in the Rajya Sabha. He first won the elections from Raigad Lok Sabha constituency in 1998.
