Greenery prevails in dry fields – prosperity in the life of farmers
Gariaband 06 December 2020. The formation of Korsi business in Vananchal village under Chura development block of the district has brought prosperity in the lives of 250 farmers of 3 villages . Now greenery is seen in the dry fields. Just 2 years ago, where only 5 quintals of paddy was produced in 1 acre , today farmers are taking 15 to 20 quintals of paddy. In fact, the area lacked the means of irrigation. Farmers depended only on monsoon to water their crops. It was fine if the rain was good , otherwise it was difficult to figure out the cost. Approval of construction of quorum diversion by the government on the much awaited demand of farmers of the region 2016-17Given in Dream of farmers came to realize , when diversion completely was finished and the first water used Edge farmers in 2019 came in the summer. In the current Kharif season too , water has reached the fields of farmers of Korasi , Madeli and Karkara. The farmer is excited as paddy production has also improved this year. Village farmers Pawan Kumar , Krit Ram , Kanhaiya Lal said that farmers are getting double benefit from this, production has increased and the benefit of Rs 2500 per quintal including support price and bonus is also being given. Village farmers Shri Baishakhu Ram and Shri Tej Ram Dhruv tell that the availability of water in the kharif crop has brought prosperity in our lives. Before we only 5 ofWe were hardly able to take 7 quintals of production, but today we are taking 15 to 20 quintals of produce. Janu Ram Sinha, a farmer of village Madeli, tells excitedly that now his 2 acres of land has become truly equal to 4 acres of land, now he is taking full production. Other similarly benefited farmers say that their life has become happier due to the diversion. The farmers are not tired of thanking the government and the government.
Executive Engineer of Water Resources Department Mr. P.K. Anand told that the Korasi diversion scheme has been made in Ghoonghuti Nala. It was approved in the year 2016-17 , which was completed in 2019 . The irrigation potential of the scheme is 325Ha. After the completion of the scheme , 152 tribal farmers of Korasi , Madeli and Karkara villages , 16 scheduled caste farmers and 79 farmers of general and backward classes are getting the benefit of irrigation from the last two kharif crops. Subdivisional Officer Shri G.K. Panchbhave said that in fact it has proved to be a lifeline and a lifeline for the diversion sector. This leads the farmer to prosperity.
