Raipur. In Chhattisgarh’s much talked about 2 thousand crore liquor scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today questioned former Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma and his son Harish Lakhma for the second time. Both have come out after 8 hours of questioning at the ED’s regional office located at Pachpedi Naka Pujari Chamber in the capital Raipur. During this, while talking to the media, he said that the ED has not misbehaved with him. He made it clear that unlike other people who talk about being harassed by the ED, nothing like that happened to him.
Lakhma alleged that “The government is harassing me again and again. I don’t understand why a tribal leader is being targeted.” Calling it a political conspiracy, Kawasi Lakhma said that “I raise the voice of Bastar in the assembly. That is why I am being harassed. Attempts are being made to suppress the people of Bastar. If illegal liquor was being made, then it is the responsibility of the officer or the concerned company.”
Described himself as a Gandhian
Former minister Lakhma called this action of ED during the urban body and panchayat elections as part of political vendetta. However, he also said that he has full faith in the law and he follows Gandhian ideology. “I am walking on the path of truth. Truth can be troubled, but not defeated. As long as I have to fight, I will keep fighting.”
The next interrogation will be held on Wednesday, January 15
Former minister Lakhma said that ED has called him again next Wednesday. This time he will take his lawyer or auditor along and will also submit some documents.
