After becoming the CM in Chhattisgarh, now the preparations for electing the Leader of Opposition have intensified. The Congress Party has scheduled a legislature party meeting on December 13. In this meeting, the Congress party will elect the leader of the opposition. Earlier the equation was that the Leader of Opposition would be chosen on the basis of who becomes the CM.
Now after becoming tribal CM, there is talk that Congress will choose OBC leader of opposition. In the results of 2023 assembly elections, big leaders of Congress had to face defeat. Although Congress has 35 MLAs, but 14 of these MLAs have reached the Assembly for the first time. Of the remaining 21, more than half have become MLAs for the second time. These leaders are in the race
Congress is looking for an aggressive leader for the opposition in the Assembly. Charandas Mahant’s name is also in discussion, but his calm nature is not fitting the opposition leader. However, Mahant is trying to make him the leader of the opposition. He is also an OBC face.
Whereas Umesh Patel is also limited to his assembly only. In such a situation, he too is not able to fit in it. These are also OBC faces. After this, only the names of Daleshwar Sahu and Bholaram Sahu are left with the party. Daleshwar’s name is also in discussion. His questions remain discussed in the assembly.
