The positive direction of farming in Chhattisgarh is evident with more than 25 lakh farmers selling paddy in the silver jubilee year of Chhattisgarh. Within a year, Rs 34,500 crore has been spent on purchasing paddy at the support price and Rs 12,000 crore has been spent under the Krishak Unnati Yojana. Apart from this, the government has transferred an amount of about Rs 500 crore to the accounts of 5 lakh 62 thousand landless farmers under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Kalyan Yojana. Along with this, an amount of Rs 1735 crore has also been given to the farmers’ accounts under the Modi government’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
An amount of Rs 2707 crore has been spent under the government’s scheme of providing free electricity to 5 HP agricultural pumps. Along with this, Rs 200 crore subsidy has been given for solar pumps. Rs 200 crore has been spent for electrification of agricultural pumps. Rs 304 crore has been spent under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. Rs 94 crore has been spent under the Krishak Samagra Vikas Yojana. Shakambari Yojana is run to encourage farmers who grow vegetables. Rs 9 crore has been spent on this and 7323 farmers have been benefited.
The government is rapidly working to modernize farming. Pesticides are being sprayed in the fields through drone sisters. Under the Agricultural Mechanization Mission, subsidies are given on agricultural equipment. 3204 farmers have availed its benefit. An expenditure of Rs 79 crore has been incurred on this.
An expenditure of Rs 46 crore has been made under the National Food Security Mission. This has benefited 4627 farmers. Similarly, 24,345 farmers have benefited from the National Mission on Ice Seeds and Oil Palm Scheme and an amount of Rs 11 crore has been spent on this. More than 2 lakh 31 thousand farmers have been benefited under the Submission on Seed and Planting Material Scheme and an amount of Rs 9 crore has been spent on this. Similarly, 3,824 farmers have been benefited under the Rainfed Area Development Scheme and an amount of Rs 7 crore has been spent on this.
Having a Soil Health Card makes it easier for farmers to take crop-related decisions. 1 lakh 45 thousand farmers have been benefited under the Soil Health Management Scheme. An expenditure of Rs 5 crore has been incurred on this. Rs 24 crore has been spent on the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana. More than 13 thousand farmers are getting benefits from this scheme. More than 24 thousand farmers have benefited from the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme. Rs 18 crore has been spent on this. Similarly, Rs 18 crore has been spent on agriculture extension and more than 8 thousand farmer brothers have benefited from this.
Continuous efforts are being made to promote organic farming. 15 crore rupees have been spent on this within a year. 15 thousand 500 farmers have benefited from this.
