Raipur. Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Chairperson Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak and members heard cases related to women in Chhattisgarh State Women Commission office, Raipur. Public hearing was held on a total of 139 cases in Raipur district. During today’s hearing, in one case, the applicant said that she wants to withdraw her case. The applicant said that she has received property worth about 25-30 lakhs for maintenance and all the family members are living together. They have no problem now. After the applicant’s statement, the Women Commission dismissed the case.
In one case, the applicant said that the non-applicants were pressurizing and threatening the applicant to increase or decrease the marks of the students. The Governor has dismissed the then Vice Chancellor from his post on 20 October 2024. In this case, the applicant has been removed from her post. In this case, both the parties were heard and the Women’s Commission has kept the decision pending on the basis of facts. The Commission said that it is necessary to make the current Vice Chancellor a party in this case, so that this matter can be resolved.
Attempt made to create pressure by bringing crowd, commission sought investigation report from police
In another case, the non-applicant party tried to create pressure politics by calling about 300 people from all over Chhattisgarh in the Commission. The applicant told that she was defamed by the non-applicants by defaming her character. The applicant had made a written complaint at the police station, but no action has been taken till date. The Commission directed the police station Abhanpur to investigate the applicant’s case and submit a report. Along with this, the Commission strictly warned the non-applicant not to try to create pressure by bringing unnecessary crowd without the instructions of the Commission in future. In another case, the non-applicants have not paid the amount to the applicant during the Covid period. The Commission heard both the parties and directed to send a letter to the District Collector in this regard.
Instructions given to the police station in-charge to bring the non-applicants
In one case, the applicant said that her father and uncle, who are non-applicants, avoid appearing in the hearing and are constantly harassing her. The commission directed that the non-applicants be called through the police station in-charge so that the matter can be resolved. Sarla Kosaria, Lakshmi Verma, Oj Devi Mandavi, Shikshamitra Shori and Priyamvada Singh Judev were present during the hearing.
