Fake tobacco gang busted in CG: Police arrested 3 smugglers red handed, goods worth lakhs found in more than 60 sacks were confiscated

, Takhatpur. Takhatpur police has taken a big action against the fake tobacco gang and arrested three accused. The arrested accused include Akash Dhodwani, Deepak Ahuja, resident of Bilaspur and Anshul Hansrajani, resident of Korba. Police has seized tobacco worth lakhs of rupees in 60 to 70 sacks from them, which was ready for sale in the market.

Let us tell you that tobacco has a strong hold in the market amidst the growing addiction. Taking advantage of this situation, this fake tobacco gang was active for a long time, which was playing with the lives of people by mixing substandard substances in tobacco. This gang brought a huge amount of fake tobacco in the market, which was even better than real tobacco in appearance. However, the consumption of tobacco in the market and the supply of the real company exposed the smuggling of this fake gang.According to the police, this gang had manufactured fake products in the name of Meghna Tobacco Company and supplied them in the market. When the owner of Meghna Company came to know about this activity, he lodged a complaint at Takhatpur police station. After this, the police immediately started investigation considering the seriousness of the matter. The police station in-charge formed a team to trace the whereabouts of the accused, which arrested them.

Police said that raids were conducted at the houses of the accused, from where 60-70 sacks of fake tobacco and tobacco packing machines were recovered. During this, the police also seized equipment used in the tobacco factory. The arrested accused are being interrogated so that other members of the gang can be traced and arrested.

Action will also be taken under the Copyright Act

Police station in-charge Devesh Rathore said that this case is not only a violation of the law, but it also endangers people’s health. He clarified that the police will take strict action in such cases. The police also assured to take action against the accused under the Copyright Act.

The owner of Meghna company said this

The owner of Meghna Company said that the demand for tobacco in the market was very high, but the supply of his product was decreasing. Due to this, he got suspicious and he reported the matter to the police, which resulted in this arrest. He said that this incident makes it clear that the business of fake tobacco is growing rapidly in the market, which needs to be stopped. Police said that they will investigate the matter deeply and ensure that all the members of this gang are brought to justice.
