Chhattisgarh Police has arrested 26 bookies from Maharashtra. Disclosing this, the police in Raipur said that these accused were betting crores of rupees in IPL with the help of applications like Mahadev Panel, Reddy 67, Laser 10. Police have arrested these accused by raiding a flat in Pune. Dubai connection of these accused has also been found.

This entire betting racket was based on online transactions worth crores of rupees. Due to which many employees of different banks are now under the police radar. Through which multi accounts were opened illegally and helped in carrying out transactions worth crores of rupees in the accounts linked to speculators.

Betting business was going on in Pune flat

Actually, Raipur Police is continuously arresting the accused to stop betting in IPL. In this episode, the Anti Crime Unit and the team of Ganj police station had caught eight bookies in Raipur. During interrogation of these accused, it was revealed that a big business of betting was going on in flats in two different areas of Pune. These flats are in Bharati Vidyapeeth area and Rajdeep Apartment of Pune.

Police did recce by posing as milkman and vegetable vendor

On receiving the information, the Raipur Police team was sent to Pune. Where police personnel disguised themselves as milkmen and vegetable vendors and conducted recce of the flat. The police stayed there for a week. Meanwhile, the policemen continued collecting information inside the flat on the pretext of household work. They kept confirming the flat in which the raid was to be carried out. Whether the entire betting business is being conducted from there or not.

Used to go out of the flat only to go to the pub

The 26 bookies arrested by the police told the police during interrogation that they used to come out of the flat only to go to the pub and party. Apart from this, all the things related to food, drinks and shopping were ordered at the door of the flat itself. The accused had also kept 3 cooks. Who used to prepare favorite food and serve it to all these bookies. These servants also used to go out and bring important things.

100 mobiles, 81 ATM, 50 SIM and 30 passbooks seized

In this case, 11 laptops, about 100 mobile phones, 81 ATMs, 50 SIM cards, 30 passbooks, 9 check books, 2 Wi-Fi and calculators have been seized from the flat of these bookies. The total value of the seized goods is around Rs 25 lakh. In this case, police have received information about transactions worth more than Rs 30 crore. Apart from this, information about more than 1000 betting players has also come to light. Police is also busy collecting their details.

Out of these arrested accused, 22 accused are from Chhattisgarh. In which there are 7 accused from Raipur, Durg-6, Rajnandgaon-3, Janjgir-Champa-2, Korba-2, Surajpur-1 and one accused from Manpur Mohalla. Apart from this, three accused are from Madhya Pradesh and one is a resident of Uttar Pradesh. In this case, the police is busy searching for all the big accused.
