The Election Commission of India has given comprehensive guidelines regarding stopping the publication of advertisements of misleading nature in electronic and social media as well as print media in the Chhattisgarh Assembly General Election-2023. Under this, pre-certification of political advertisements published in print media on the voting day and a day before it is necessary. Giving information about the circular issued in this regard by the Election Commission of India, Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that, for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. One day before the first phase of voting and on the voting day i.e. on 6th November and 7th November and one day before the second phase of voting and on the voting day i.e. on 16th November and 17th November, before the publication of political advertisements in the print media by the district or state. Pre-certification of advertisements from level media certification committee has been made mandatory. For this, the Election Commission of India has instructed the State level and District level Media Certification Committee to take quick decisions on the applications received for certification. Chief Electoral Officer Kangale said that the misleading nature of print media before the voting day and on the voting date.
