, Bilaspur. During the hearing of the case, the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Sachin Singh Rajput issued a notice to the state government and asked what is going on in the state? 8 criminal cases were registered against the entire family of a Dalit woman who was a rape victim. Now the entire family will fight the case for the rest of their lives. This is a misuse of power. AG sahab, you should look into it yourself.

Let us tell you that a Dalit married woman from Bilaspur district had lodged a complaint in the City Kotwali that between the year 2018 and 12 December 2019, accused Piyush Tiwari, a resident of New Colony Tikrapara, Raipur, raped her by luring her to marry him by introducing himself as unmarried and DSP.

When the victim came to know that the accused is neither a DSP nor unmarried, she ended the relationship and filed a case against him under the SC/ST Act along with rape. After this, accused Piyush Tiwari and his friend IPS Arvind Kujur threatened the accused woman to implicate her in any case and pressured her to withdraw the case. Then the victim went to her home and got married in Indore in the year 2018.

On learning about the marriage, Piyush Tiwari filed a false case of fraud in Kumhari police station and got the woman’s father, brother and husband arrested and sent to jail. According to the petition, his IPS friend Arvind Kujur used his position in this. Later, the accused Piyush Tiwari, through this fake case, pressurized the victim to withdraw the case and settle the matter, but did not withdraw his own case.

Meanwhile, Special Judge Atrocity Raipur sentenced the accused under the Atrocity Act. After the conviction, the accused, with the help of his IPS friend, filed 8 cases against the victim’s family in different police stations. In one case, when the victim’s family got bail, a second FIR was filed before that. Due to this, the woman’s family remained in jail continuously.

Against this, the victim and her family filed a petition in the High Court. The case was heard in the DB of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Sachin Singh Rajput. The court took the case seriously and told the Advocate General that what is happening in the state is misuse of power. You should talk to the Chief Secretary and the Chief of the Police Department and give an answer, this will not work. Along with this, the court has put a stay on the proceedings of all the cases going on against the victim and her family. The court has issued notice to all the parties including IPS Arvind Kujur.
