Bharat Bandh ineffective, shops closed only in Baikunthpur

No effect of Bharat Bandh was visible in Surguja district. Congress maintained distance from Bharat Bandh in Ambikapur.
The Congressmen neither came out to close the shops nor were seen active anywhere. Shops remained open as usual.
The effect of Bharat Bandh was visible in Korea district. Congressmen were active in closing the shops in the morning. Shops remained closed on the call of Congressmen.
The effect of Bharat Bandh was not visible in Balrampur district also. Shops in Balrampur and Ramanujganj remained open since morning. Congressmen did not show any activity regarding the bandh.

Malkit Singh Gaidu has written in a letter to all the district and city presidents that as you know the farmer unions have announced Bharat Bandh on 16 February 2024. The major issues of this nationwide bandh include the demand for MSP guarantee and unemployment and the anti-people policies of the central government.

Farmer unions have asked various sections of the society, including students, youth, women, pensioners, small traders, truck drivers, journalists and cultural workers, to pay attention to important issues.

He has requested that there should be wide publicity in support of the Bharat Bandh organized on 16 February 2024. Make the common people aware on important issues like livelihood and make the call of Bharat Bandh successful by supporting it on an open platform in solidarity with our food providers.

Today is the fourth day of farmer movement

Farmer organizations are running ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement. Today is the fourth day of the march of farmers of Punjab to Delhi regarding this. They are standing at the Shambhu border of Haryana to fulfill other demands including guarantee of MSP for crops.

Here, Haryana Police has stopped the farmers for 3 days by leaving 7 layers of barricades and tear gas shells. On Thursday, farmers had announced to stop trains in 6 districts of Punjab from 12 noon to 4 pm. Khanauri and Dabwali border of Punjab bordering Haryana is also closed for 3 days.
