Balodabazar . A case of sudden deterioration of health of 38 children due to gas leakage has come to light in Khaparadih School located in Suhela of the district. The children complained of difficulty in breathing, vomiting and fainting to the school teachers, after which they were immediately taken to the hospital. The condition of two of these children is said to be critical. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has targeted the government regarding this incident. The scene is so horrific that I cannot share it here. Due to gas leakage near Khaparadih School in Suhela, the health of more than 40 children has suddenly deteriorated. Some children have fainted, some are having trouble breathing. The condition of 2 children is critical. The rest of the children have been admitted to the hospital. Children were fainting in school for three consecutive days, the villagers were constantly complaining to the administration but the administration remained asleep and today this situation has arisen.

Villagers say that pollution is spreading from two big plants located near the school. Gas is leaking which is adversely affecting the health of children. The smoke, chemicals and pollutants emitted from the plants are dissolving in the air and harming the health of children.

38 school children suddenly fell ill

Let us tell you that the health of the children suddenly deteriorated in the village Khaparadih school of Balodabazar district. One by one the children started vomiting and some students fainted. The school administration immediately informed the parents of the students and the children were admitted to the district hospital and Bhatapara hospital, where their treatment is going on. The children told that the reason for their deteriorating health was the smelly gas coming out of the Shri Cement plant. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Collector Deepak Soni immediately reached Suhela Community Health Center to know the condition of the children. During this, he inquired about the condition of the children and instructed the medical officer to provide proper treatment. He has also taken cognizance of the children’s complaint regarding the cement plant and has ordered an investigation.

Collector Deepak Soni said that the situation is under control. Villagers and school children have reported the smell of gas coming out of the cement plant during interrogation, which is being investigated. The area has been sealed. Apart from this, the team of the Industry Department along with the Environment Department has been instructed to investigate. Further action will be taken after the investigation report. At present, the children will be shifted to another school so that their studies are not disturbed.
