Distribution of dry mid-day meal started in schools, about 29 lakh children of the state will get benefit

Raipur, 03 April 2020 / With the aim of prevention of infection of Novel Corona Virus (Kovid-19), the state government has closed all schools till April 14 in the event of lockdown. On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, it has been decided to provide mid-day meal to school children during the holiday period. About 29 lakh children of the state benefit from the mid-day meal scheme. In which 18 lakh primary school and 11 lakh children are studying in upper primary school. According to the government’s instructions, dry ration was distributed in all the 28 districts of the state under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme. April 3 and 4 are set for its delivery. If the delivery is not completed within 2 days then it will be extended further.

The ration is being distributed while maintaining social distance in schools. Ration is being given in some districts by door-to-door delivery, while elsewhere it is being distributed in schools. According to the information received from the districts of School Education Department, ration was distributed to about 65 percent children of the state today. Officials of the school education department said that instructions have been given to carefully feed fragrant soy sweet milk in 4 districts under flexi item and in 2 districts under Mukhyamantri Amrit Yojana. The work of feeding stored soy milk in the districts has also been started from today. These include Gariaband, Surajpur, Korea, Kabirdham, Bastar and Durg districts. In the two development blocks of the state, Pandra and Kharagwan, morning breakfast was being given as innovation. Its dry food was also stored before the school was closed, and today, the distribution of dry ration has also been started. District and state level officials are continuously monitoring the distribution of drought rations.

According to the instructions of the government, mid-day meal for March and April 2020, 40-day dry pulse and rice is being supplied to the parents of the children from the school. Each child of primary school is being given 4 kg of rice and 800 grams of pulses and 6 kg of rice and 1200 grams of dal is being given to each child of higher secondary school.

Local MLA Mr. Satyanarayan Sharma took stock of distribution arrangements in Raipur Rural Vidhan Sabha constituency today. Rice and pulses were distributed to parents in the former secondary schools of Birgaon Municipal Corporation area at fixed weight. On this occasion, District Education Officer, Mr. G.R. Chandrakar and the coordinator were also present. MLA Shri Satyanarayana Sharma told the people about a distance of 3 feet and applying cloth or mask on the occasion. Officials said that out of 375 children registered at the government primary school Mowa from 7.30 am to 11.30 am today, rice and dal were distributed to the parents of 281 children. Similarly 192 out of 237 recorded in primary school, Kampa Lodhipara, 118 out of 160 recorded in primary school Shaheed Bhagat Singh Pandri, 172 out of 261 recorded in former secondary school swamp suture, 249 out of 314 recorded in former secondary school Saddu. Rice and lentils were distributed as per prescribed quantity to the parents of 424 children out of 577 recorded in Shala Saddu and 253 out of 410 recorded in Pre-Secondary Shala Mowa.
