Let us tell you that on 2 July 2024, 3 new FIRs have been registered against suspended IAS officers Ranu Sahu and Sameer Vishnoi as well as state service officer Saumya Chaurasia. Along with getting bail from the Supreme Court in the ED case, Saumya is accused of earning assets disproportionate to her income. Now the ACB team will interrogate in this matter. At the same time, after getting bail from the Supreme Court, Saumya had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the High Court. The hearing of this case was pending in the High Court. Here the EOW team reached Raipur jail and arrested her in the disproportionate assets case. Also, she was produced in the court of Special Judge Nidhi Sharma. The court sent Saumya Chaurasia on 10-day ACB custodial remand.

After the arrest of Saumya Chaurasia, her anticipatory bail plea had no meaning. Therefore, the case has been withdrawn to file a fresh regular bail plea. He told the court that different cases are being filed again and again to send Saumya Chaurasia to jail with malicious intent. Now a regular bail plea will be filed in the High Court.

It is known that Saumya Chaurasia, who was a powerful officer in the Congress government, has also been the deputy secretary of former CM Bhupesh Baghel. She was arrested by the ED on 2 December 2022 in the coal scam and money laundering case. Since then she is lodged in Central Jail Raipur. Saumya Chaurasia has got bail in the ED case of coal scam and money laundering. The Supreme Court has granted her conditional bail in the money laundering case. But a case of disproportionate assets has been registered in EOW / ACB. An anticipatory bail petition was filed on her behalf for bail in this case. Even before getting anticipatory bail, she was arrested in jail itself. Due to which now she will have to file a regular bail petition.
