Disproportionate assets case: CBI raids senior audit officer’s premises, investigation underway

Raipur. CBI has registered a case against accused senior audit officer Indian Audit and Accounts Department Raipur on charges of possessing disproportionate assets. The team also conducted searches at his hideouts. It is alleged that the accused joined the job on July 13, 2006 as SO with grade pay of Rs 4,800. Since joining the job, he has allegedly acquired/purchased about 10 immovable properties in the form of agricultural land, residential plots etc. every year.

It is also alleged that the accused has been involved in corrupt activities and has illegally enriched himself by committing the crime of criminal misconduct. He has acquired assets disproportionate to his known source of income. The accused has allegedly acquired/accumulated immovable/movable assets worth Rs 3,89,53,980 (approx) in his and his wife’s name during the period from 31.08.2007 to 31.05.2024.

It is also alleged that the DA amount of the accused during the investigation period from 31.08.2007 to 31.05.2024 is Rs 1,47,50,143/- (approx). Searches are being conducted today at 03 places including residential and office premises of the accused in Raipur. CBI investigation is ongoing.
