Dhamtari 23 December 2020.  In the era of modernity and scientism, it has become very challenging to preserve the ancient tradition and culture intact. In such a situation, people associated with their ancestral business have to struggle a lot to keep it going. People associated with earth work are also among them who are forced to give up their traditional occupation of subsistence. Women are being trained in the newly constructed Multi Utility Center in the village Nari of Kurud development block and formed in the group. Due to this, excellent training is being made in making artistic utensils, tools, while in the meantime, there are also money to learn work.

Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Nari, Shri Jagatpal Sahu said that the women of the village are doing better work by training in soil crafts in the multi utility center. With this, along with self-employment, their work is progressing towards self-reliance. Smt. Khemin Chakradhari, who is preparing the ax from the wet soil in the center, told that earlier she used to help her husband in the work of preparing clay clay (tile), lamps and pottery, that too in a few seasons, depending on the demand . She now aspires to continue her life by joining the Matikala Board. He also said that plastic disposable plastic cups, bowls, glasses, The arrival of the plate has adversely affected their ancestral business. If the work of clay craft continues even further, then they will not have to adopt any other type of employment. Smt. Ishwari Chakradhari said that the work of engraving new designs in clay was very much liked. He expressed hope that if people are aware of its usefulness and importance, then they will get better response, while they can also pursue it by staying connected with traditional business. Mrs. Neera, Punia, Basanti said that she is getting to learn such skills in her village, so that old and traditional businesses can be revived.
It is noteworthy that on special initiative of the district administration, training of soil crafts is being given to women groups formed under Bihaan in the village Nari in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Matikala Board. This is the third center of the state, where utensils, appliances, furnishings and other useful items are being prepared from clay. During the training, the women are giving their products made of clay with ‘touch-finishing’, smooth and pleasing shape. In this way, by running electronic chalk in the Multi Utility Center, while women are able to maintain their traditional endangered profession, it will prove to be a better and stronger medium of income in the coming times.
