Nutrition and hygiene awareness being brought through Rangoli, painting on walls and slogans in checks.
Dhamtari 10 September 2020. It is being celebrated as ‘National Nutrition Month’ till 30th September. During this period, many activities related to nutrition, health, hygiene are being done by the Department of Women and Child Development. Along with this, information is being given to the five sources of nutrition. Project Officer, Women and Child Development Project Dhamtari (Urban) Smt. Chitrekha Yadav said that following the guidelines given by the government for protection from Kovid 19, essay, painting, slogan in the courtyards, check-posts etc. Information related to nutrition and hygiene is being given to people through Rangoli.
In this series, nutrition awareness was brought through Rangoli with participation of school students in Shyamaprasad Mukherjee ward under Dhamtari Urban. Along with this, slogan writing was also done on the wall by Anganwadi workers and assistants. Apart from this, pregnant and infant women including malnourished children are being given door-to-door supervision and nutrition by supervisors, Anganwadi workers and assistants and weight of children is being taken. Besides, emphasis is also being laid on developing a ‘nutritional garden’ by planting fruit, vegetable plants in the courtyard of houses.
