Dhamtari: 81 percent water logging in the reservoirs of the district

The useful water in the four dams of the district is 39.87 tmc. with an average of 81 percentIs. Out of this, 2.40 TMC for Bhilai Steel Plant, 0.60 TMC for Bhilai Power Plant, 0.812 TMC for Municipal Corporation Bhilai, Municipal Corporation Raipur for drinking water. 2.15 TMC and 0.247 TMC for Municipal Corporation Dhamtari, total 6.21 TMC. Water has been reserved. Similarly, in the year 2022-23, 7.8 TMC of water for various purposes, thus totaling 14.09 TMC. Water is proposed to be kept. After this 25.78 TMC for Kharif irrigation. Water is available. The above information was given by the Executive Engineer Water Resources Shri AK Paladiya in the meeting of District Water Utilization Committee held under the chairmanship of Collector Shri P.S.Elma today. It was decided in the meeting that the available water should be given for Kharif irrigation as per the requirement. MLA Dhamtari Smt. Ranjana Sahu was also present in this meeting called from 10 am.
The Executive Engineer further informed that this time 32.15 TMC has been completed in the month of July itself. The Ravi Shankar Sagar reservoir at Gangrel with capacity is 97 percent full . Similarly 5.8 TMC. In Murumsilli, 65 percent of the capacity , 10.19 TMC . In Dudhwa with capacity 56 percent , 6.9 TMC . There is 67 percent water logging in the Sondur reservoir of capacity . Thus an average of 81 percentWater is filled in reservoirs. Now 14.09 TMC 25.78 TMC for irrigation after keeping the water reserved for various purposes in provisional quantity. Water is available. 7.823 tmc after rain The water is released from Gangrel reservoir. It was also informed that since July 23, two thousand 955 cusecs of water is being released from the main canal. Due to this irrigation is being done in Kurud, Abhanpur, Bhatapara, Balodabazar, Tilda. Further, according to the demand and requirement, the decision to provide water from the reservoir for Kharif irrigation was taken in the meeting. The departmental staff of Water Resources was present in today’s meeting.
