Dhamtari: 203 acres of barren land of 92 forest dwellers of the city will be rejuvenated

Dhamtari 12 July 2020. On the initiative of District Administration Dhamtari, 203 acres of barren land will be rejuvenated by farmers holding 92 forest rights pattas of six villages of tribal development block city. On the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Smt Namrata Gandhi, the team of the association ‘Pradan’ visited the villages of the city development block and identified the pattharas in a panch in village Guhannala, Bandha, Gajakanar, Dinkarpur, Jhunjarakasa and Ranpandaripani. Along with this, a detailed action plan was prepared with the convergence of various schemes of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, DMF, Agriculture, Horticulture and CREDA Department.

On the special initiative of Collector Shri Jai Prakash Maurya, administrative approval of Rs. 1.33 crore was given from various schemes. It has been reported that in these barren lands, various types of mango, jackfruit, munga, papaya, lemon and boundary will be planted with khamhar and gooseberry. Till the plant grows, crops of ragi, maize, pigeonpea, urad, moong will be taken in the middle vacant land and greens will be cultivated in the summer season. Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat City, Mr. P.R. Sahu informed that Rs 73.41 lakh has been sanctioned by the Collector from District Mineral Trust Fund for fencing, bore mining, solar pump and drip irrigation of all six villages. Plantation of fruitful trees on 37 acres of land of 24 forest dwellers of Jhunjarakasa will be done on July 13. MLA Sihawa Dr. at 9:30 AM It will be launched by Lakshmi Dhruva. Janpanchayat members, sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Jhunjhrakasa, Panch, Distinguished Jan Pratinidhi and Collector, Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat, along with officers and employees will be present.
