Demonstration of farmers from 50 villages outside CM House: Farmer leader said – 18 hours of power cut left fields dry, will meet CM

A large number of farmers of Chhattisgarh are sitting on strike outside the Chief Minister’s residence over the problem of power cut. Farmers from 50 villages have gathered regarding interruption in power supply. It is being told that the farmers will meet Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and present their demands.

Farmers told that they have gathered farmers from 25 villages of Bemetra district. Farmers said that all the villages under sub-station Nand Ghat, Temri, Maro, Kura are affected. There is power cut for 18 hours here.

Crop on the verge of drying up due to power cut

Farmers told that electricity is supplied under Atal Jyoti, which has been affected for the last 2 months. Due to this, farmers’ fields have dried up. The crop is on the verge of drying up, due to which the farmer will die due to severe debt.

Divisional engineering complaint

Farmer leader Murari Mishra told that under the Atal Jyoti Yojana, he is getting 2 hours of electricity. The voltage remains down in that also. He said that farmers are unhappy due to the indifference and lack of communication of Divisional Engineering Bhatnagar of Bemetara district. They are demanding his removal from Bemetra district. Farmers are frustrated due to not getting water.

Farmers sitting at Bharat Mata Chowk from 4 o’clock

Farmers left their villages at 9 am and reached Raipur at 1 pm. The police had stopped the vehicle near Ghaneli, after which they reached BTI grounds on foot and were sitting at Bharat Mata Chowk since 4 o’clock. However, after the arrival of the farmers, the police-administration has also reached the spot.
