With the nationwide death toll from COVID 19 touching 332 and the number of positive cases reaching 9,200, the Union Health Ministry said India is preparing for a possible exponential surge in cases. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi indicated on April 11 that the country could see an extension of the lockdown as that was the common demand of a large number of States, though an official announcement is yet to be made.
