Continuous action on CG code of conduct, cash and goods worth Rs 38.35 crore seized so far: more than Rs 10 crore, liquor worth Rs 90 lakh, jewelery worth more than Rs 14 crore recovered

Raipur. The model code of conduct is in effect for the assembly elections 2023 in Chhattisgarh. The action of enforcement agencies is continuing in the state. Since the code of conduct came into effect, till October 29, illegal money and items worth more than Rs 38 crore 34 lakh have been seized. These also include a cash amount of Rs 10 crore 11 lakh. According to the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, the enforcement agencies have seized 30 thousand 840 liters of illicit liquor during surveillance till October 29, worth Rs 90 lakh 87. Thousand is 532 rupees. During the intensive investigation operation, more than 184 kg of precious jewelery and gems worth Rs 14 crore 82 lakh 76 thousand have also been seized. Apart from these, other materials whose value is more than Rs 9 crore 50 lakh have also been seized. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale has informed about all necessary actions to be taken to maintain law and order during the Assembly General Election-2023. Necessary instructions have been issued to District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police. Following these guidelines, illegal transportation and storage of money and goods is being closely monitored through various enforcement agencies in the state.
