[email protected]An Uttarakhand villager was cheated of Rs. 75 lakh allegedly by two men who promised his son’s selection in the Indian Premier League (IPL) team.

Hakam Singh, who lives in Purola, filed an FIR against two brothers Ankit Rawat and Sandeep Rawat alleging fraud.

“We have filed a case of fraud against two men and are looking out for them,” a police official told news agency ANI.

Mr Singh claimed that he sold off his property and handed over the money in full to Ankit Rawat. However, when his son did not get selected in the IPL team even after a month, he went back to him to claim his money, but was refused.

In another incident, two people from Purola took away Rs. 10 lakh from another villager selling a similar dream.
