There was a stir on Saturday afternoon when Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar suddenly arrived for site inspection along with the Urban Administration Department’s mobile testing laboratory van. The Corporation Commissioner took samples of completed construction works and sent them to the lab for testing. The construction works whose samples have been taken include the disabled friendly footpath and road built from Sai Mandir to Mangala Chowk in Nehru Nagar, the CC road near Vivekanand Colony under Zone Number 7, besides this, samples have been taken of the CC road built from Bajrang Chowk to Manna Dol railway line in ward number 10 of Zone Number 1.
Meeting of contractors and corporation commissioner
In the morning, in the Drishti Sabhakaksha of the Municipal Corporation, Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar held a meeting with the contractors under the banner of the Contractor Association. The Corporation Commissioner had called the meeting to know the problems and suggestions of the contractors. In the meeting, the Corporation Commissioner told the contractors in clear words that there should be no decrease in quality in the work of extremely below rate and if any deficiency is found, then blacklisting action will be taken against the concerned contractor, contractors should be ready for this. No compromise of any kind will be tolerated in the quality of work.
Problems will be resolved – Corporation Commissioner
Earlier in the meeting, the contractors told about the problems related to delay in billing, interference in work by non-technical persons and delay in funds, after which the Corporation Commissioner assured the contractors to make a timeline for billing and to solve the funding problem soon. Apart from this, the contractors also demanded to deposit the royalty fee in the Smart City office itself and simplify the complex documents, on which the Corporation Commissioner has assured to analyze it. In today’s meeting, Contractor Association President Abhishek Singh, Secretary Purushottam Rajput Rajkumar Tiwari, Kamal Singh, Jitendra Soni, Narendra Chitrakar, Vivek Tamrakar, Nawaz, Shiva Gendle, Anand Budholia, Ashok Tiwari and other contractors were present.
