Kanker. In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the head teacher who was negligent during election duty has been suspended by the Collector and District Election Officer. Let us tell you that voting is to be held tomorrow in Kanker, Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh, for which the duty of the head master of Antagarh Primary School was deployed at polling station number 215 of Bhanupratappur. On Thursday, during election related work, head teacher Dharamdev Markam had arrived in an inebriated state. When medically examined, it was confirmed that he had consumed alcohol.
After coming to the notice of the matter, Collector and District Election Officer Abhijit Singh booked him under Rule 9 of Chhattisgarh Civil Service (Classification Control and Appeal) Rules 1966 for dereliction of duty by appearing in an intoxicated state at a function of national importance like elections. Under sub-rule (1) (a) of the Act, head teacher Dharamdev Markam was suspended with immediate effect. During the suspension period, his headquarters has been fixed as District Education Office, Kanker. During the period of suspension, he will be eligible for subsistence allowance as per rules.
It is noteworthy that the District Election Officer has been repeatedly advising all the government servants to discharge such an important responsibility like elections with seriousness, alertness, caution and impartiality. Also, it has been said to follow the instructions of the Election Commission of India. Even after this, in case of negligence, strict disciplinary action will be taken against the concerned without any delay. The District Election Officer has once again directed the government servants engaged in Lok Sabha election work to properly perform the responsibilities assigned by the Commission. Those who act against the rules will not be tolerated at all.
