Regarding the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) recruitment scam, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that we have kept the promise we had made. Action will be taken against whoever is guilty in this case. EOW has registered FIR, investigation has also been handed over to CBI.
A day earlier, EOW has registered an FIR against former CGPSC Chairman Taman Sonwani, former Secretary Jeevan Kishore Dhruv, Controller of Examinations and other officers and leaders. It is alleged that while in office, all of them got their brothers and nephews selected on big posts. BJP had made it an election issue.
BJP had made this matter a big issue in the elections. Also said that if the government comes, major action will be taken. After this, BJP included it in its charge sheet. This was the first time that PSC recruitment had become an issue in the assembly elections.
During the elections, when Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the charge sheet of BJP, the PSC case was also mentioned prominently in it. Earlier, BJYM national president Tejashwi Surya had also raised the issue of PSC loudly in the Hunkar rally held in the capital.
Former Home Minister has filed a petition in the High Court
Nankiram Kanwar, former Home Minister and MLA from Rampur, has given the list of relatives of officers selected in PSC in the High Court. After this, Congress has also put forward the list of old officers and leaders, whose relatives were selected. After this the matter has reached the Supreme Court. The selection list of CGPSC 2021-22 is surrounded by controversies. It is alleged that there has been fraud and nepotism in recruitment. The High Court had also put a stay on 13 appointments after the PIL was filed.
However, regarding some facts, Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha had directed the state government and the PSC to check the authenticity of the facts in the list presented by the petitioner.
Recruitment examination was held for 171 posts
The recruitment test was conducted for 171 posts in CGPSC Exam 2021. Pre-exam was conducted on 13 February 2022. In this, 2 thousand 565 passed. After this, 509 candidates passed the mains examination held on 26, 27, 28 and 29 May 2022. After the interview, the selection list of 170 candidates was released on 11 May 2023.
