Nine Maoists neutralized in a armed combat with the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, which cost one security personnel’s life on Saturday. This operation was conducted on June 12 and included such territories as Kutul, Farasbeda and Kodtameta in Abujhmad.

The District Reserve Guards and Special Task Force from four districts of Narayanpur, Kondagaon, Kanker, and Dantewada participated in the joint anti-Naxal operation with the support of personnel of the Indian Indo Tibetan Border Police ITBP 53rd Corps. An officer who spoke to the media said that the incidents have been observed starting from June 12 and short bursts of firing were noted during these interactions. Civilian casualties have also been common in the attack, and during one of these operations, one jawan was killed, and two others wounded.

Nonetheless, perhaps more significantly, this year the escalated anti Maoist operations have claimed the lives of 131 Naxals in Chhattisgarh. However, Maoists have killed 22 civilians and 10 security forces in the same period and have posed serious questions marks on the law enforcement agencies of India. This is a slightly higher spike than the 24 Maoists who were killed in encounters in the year 2023.
