CM Sai Meets PM Modi, Home Minister Shah on State Issues

Raipur: In his recent visit to Delhi, Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai had a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. Sai thanked Modi and extended his acknowledgment for congratulating him on another term as the Prime Minister of India. While interacting with the media, Sai said that during the meeting, he informed Prime Minister Modi how the state government is sincere in implementing the assurance linked with Modi’s Guarantee in Chhattisgarh. He also explained the measures to check the menace of Naxalism in the state and informed about the progress of the construction and other basic amenities being extended to the people of Niyad Nelanar.

On his part, Chief Minister Sai dwelled on what he called the vision document that the state is preparing to make Chhattisgarh a developed state. He mentioned that it details multilayered strategies on how the state should progress in different fields.

In the same way, it was quite important for Sai to talk to Union Home Minister Amit Shah as well. This is because he apprised Shah of the prevailing scenario in the state and security and sundry developmental aspects. During the fight against Naxalite activities, Sai underlined the willingness of the state to preserve ‘law and order’ and improve the ‘quality of life’ of citizens.

Also, Chief Minister Sai spoke to the media on political matters, in particular on the upcoming Lok Sabha Speaker elections. He quoted the unopposed Speakers’ election process since independence, and this process is now threatened by the opposition parties. As for the essence of this convention, Sai shared the views on its necessity for the sake of maintaining order and proper motivations within the parliament. He stressed and insisted on the importance of cooperation and consensus, especially in major parliamentary matters and measures.

In sum, the meetings with the counterparts in Delhi were initiated and focused on revealing new perspectives for Chhattisgarh’s development and touching on important aspects of security and governance.
