Shivraj Singh Chouhan: All efforts will be made to compensate for crop loss and rehabilitation

Bhopal :  August 31, 2020. Chief Minister  Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that farmers should not be worried due to the damage caused by excess rain and floods. The government is in action and stands with them. All efforts will be made to compensate for losses through crop insurance scheme and RBC provisions by making every possible arrangement and ensure rehabilitation. Crops are affected in about 7 lakh hectare area in 14 districts of the state. Now the water level is receding in most places and the situation is under control. Arrangements have been made to provide food, drinking water etc. at the relief camps in the flood affected area. The Union Home Minister has been apprised with the state’s condition.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that along with crop loss the biggest challenge is to make arrangements for sanitation, take preventive measures against spread of diseases provide clean drinking water and restore power supply in the flood affected areas. The administration is engaged in this task with full force. Ministers will also be entrusted with the responsibility. Chief Minister  Chouhan said that reasons for the bridge collapse in Seoni will be probed.

CM  Chouhan expresses gratitude

Chief Minister  Chouhan has thanked all agencies including the district administration, Army, Air Force, SDRF, NDRF for being active round the clock and providing prompt relief to people in this hour of crisis. As many as 264 people were airlifted by five Air Force helicopters in flood affected areas. Chief Minister  Chouhan thanked the pilots  Adarsh and  Sanjay Srivastava for rescue work through helicopters amidst the thick clouds despite adverse weather conditions. The Chief Minister also thanked the Army Group Commander and all five pilots.

Free transport facility to students of JEE Main and NEET

Chief Minister  Chouhan said that instructions have been issued to provide free transportation to the students appearing in JEE Main and NEET-2020 examinations in the state. This arrangement has been made so that students do not face problems due to Corona. Students will have to come from their village / city to the development block or district headquarters to get this facility. Transport facility will be provided by the district administration for commuting to and from the examination centre.
