  • Decisions taken in the meeting chaired by Labor Minister cum Chairman Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan

Raipur, 25 October 2024 :  Vishnudev government is going to launch three new schemes for 28 lakh construction workers of the state. The approval of three new schemes was taken today on Friday in the third meeting of the Board of Directors held at the Mandal office of Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of Labor Minister cum Chairman Chhattisgarh Bhawan and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan.

The process of Atal Utkrishta Shiksha Yojana for the children of construction workers in the state will be started on November 1 on the occasion of State Foundation Day. Similarly, Nirman Mazdoor Parivar Sashaktikaran Yojana, free coaching scheme for higher education IIT, JEE, NEET, CA exams for registered construction workers and their children will be started. Along with this, Nirman Mazdoor Parivar Sashaktikaran Yojana will also be started for skill upgradation of 26.68 lakh construction workers of the state and their children. Labor Department Secretary Alarmel Mangai D, Finance Department Special Secretary Sheetal Verma, BOC Secretary Savita Mishra, Chief Inspector cum Labor Commissioner SS Pakra and others were present in the meeting.

Labor food scheme will be started in other districts

In the meeting of the Board of Directors, Labor Minister cum Chairman Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan gave instructions to start the scheme in all the districts under Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Anna Yojana as per the announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai in the workers’ conference. At present, a total of 33 food centers are operating in 09 districts.

All construction workers will have health check-up

In the board meeting, it was also decided to conduct free health tests for construction workers and their family members. It was also decided to get the tests done by the Health Department and ESIC. This will benefit more than 26 lakh workers.

Now the board will give 1 lakh rupees even on the death of unregistered workers

Under the Chief Minister Nirman Shramik Death and Disabled Assistance Scheme, a booth registered construction worker is given Rs 5 lakh on accidental death at work place, 2.5 lakh on permanent disability, and Rs 1 lakh to his legal heir on normal death, but there is no provision for giving money to unregistered construction workers after death. It was decided in the board meeting that if such a worker dies at work place, his family will be given a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh. On 21 October, worker Parmanand Dhruv of Mahasamund district died after falling from a height. The deceased worker was an unregistered worker. It was decided in the board meeting to give a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the wife of the deceased.
