Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has directed the officers of the Excise Department to take strict action in coordination with the Police Department to effectively control the manufacture, possession, transportation and sale of illegal liquor in the state. He said that the Excise Check Posts established in the border districts of the state should be kept functional. Regular and intensive checking of distilleries, bottling units, hotels, bars, clubs located in the state should be ensured. Chief Minister Sai gave these instructions during the review meeting of the Excise Department’s work in Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan todayChief Minister Sai said that prompt action should be taken as per rules on the applications received for new bottling unit of country liquor in the state. Liquor manufacturing units manufactured outside Chhattisgarh should be encouraged to set up their own manufacturing plants in Chhattisgarh. Biometric attendance system appreciated
CM directed to study the Mahua policy prevalent in other states so that better means of income can be made available to Mahua collectors and forest dwellers. Chief Minister appreciated the Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) implemented by the department in relation to the attendance of personnel working in liquor shops. Similarly, instructions were given in the meeting to maintain the privacy of user data in the ‘Manpasand App’ launched to provide information about the availability of liquor as per the choice of Indian and foreign liquor consumers and to take prompt action on the suggestions and complaints received in the app. Instructions were also given in the meeting to maintain necessary cleanliness in liquor shops, proper display of liquor brand-label and to ensure updated maintenance of prescribed registers.
