Chief Minister Nutrition Campaign: Ayurvedic nutrition modak made from dry ginger, ashwagandha, linseed is being given to malnourished children

Raipur, 21 October 2021 : Efforts are being made in the state to remove malnutrition among children through hot nutritious food and supplementary nutritional food under the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign. In this, priority is being included on locally available grains, fruits, vegetables and products made from them. In this episode, Marwahi MLA Dr. K. Of. Dhruv has started distribution of ‘Ayurvedic Suposhan Modak’ to malnourished children under the second phase of Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign on Wednesday. Many public representatives including Collector Ms. Namrata Gandhi were present on the occasion.

Ashwagandha, Soth, Black pepper, Trikoot, Linseed, Murrah, Groundnut, Jaggery, Futa gram and Sesame together have prepared ‘Ayurvedic Nutrition Modak’ of 75 grams per nos. Under the well-nourished Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi Mission, 3 nos. of modaks will be distributed to the malnourished children every week. This will benefit 1396 severely and 5238 moderately malnourished children.

Marwahi MLA Dr. K. Of. Dhruv asked the Department of Health and Women and Child Development to work in coordination to ensure proper use and continuous supervision of NRC. Collector Ms. Namrata Gandhi called upon the people present to make the campaign successful while telling the importance of nutrition. District President Gaurela Smt. Mamta Paikra advised the mothers and sisters present to feed nutritious food available at home for the children and keep children away from packaged food, crisps, chips etc. District Women and Child Development Officer informed that the concept of supplementary nutrition diet has been formulated to bring about a positive change in the prevailing nutritional practices.
