Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

The third newly elected Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was born on 23 August 1961 in the capital Raipur. His father Mr. Nandkumar Baghel is a progressive farmer of Patan area of Durg district.
Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was elected MLA for the first time in the year 1993 for the then undivided Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. After this, he represented Patan constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh in the year 1998, year 2003 and year 2013 as MLA after formation of Madhya Pradesh and state respectively. Mr. Baghel was elected MLA from Patan constituency for the fifth time in the General Elections of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in the year 2018. He has special interest in literature reading, yoga and sports activities. He successfully organized huge Swabhiman rallies at Raipur on 19 July 2000 and at Bilaspur on 30 August 2000. He also contributed significantly in the successful organization of mass marriage ceremonies organized by Chhattisgarh Manwakurmi Samaj in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg and Selud.
Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in the then undivided Madhya Pradesh Government in the year 1998 as the Minister of State attached to the Chief Minister and the Minister of State with independent charge of Public Grievance Redressal Department, in the year 1999 as the Minister of Transport Department and in the year 2000 after the formation of the state of Chhattisgarh Gave his remarkable services to the public as the Minister of Revenue, Rehabilitation, Relief Work and Public Health Engineering Departments of Chhattisgarh Government. Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has been a member of the Business Advisory Committee of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in the year 2013 and the Public Accounts Committee in the year 2014-15.
