Raipur, 9 June 2023, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, under his two important announcements for increasing irrigation projects and irrigation capacity in Kabirdham district, today, for expansion of irrigation facilities for Pandariya assembly constituency, for proper irrigation expansion including remodeling, lining and new canal expansion of Kranti Reservoir and canals. Laid the foundation stone of the works. During his meet-meet programme, the Chief Minister had announced Kranti Reservoir in Pandariya Assembly constituency of Kabirdham district and Ghatola Reservoir in Kawardha Assembly constituency. Both these projects have also got approval from the state government.
Forest Minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar and Pandariya MLA Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar had made a special request to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for expansion including Ghatola Reservoir and Kranti Reservoir to increase irrigation potential in their respective constituencies. With the special efforts of Cabinet Minister Mr. Akbar, approval of Rs 12 crore 61 thousand for Ghatola reservoir and Rs 69 crore 76 lakh for construction of Jagmadwa reservoir has been received from the government in Kawardha assembly constituency.
It is noteworthy that administrative approval of Rs 43 crore 81 lakh 24 thousand has been received from the state government for the Kranti reservoir. These works include construction work of diversion scheme in Half river of Pandariya development block, top work of feeder and Ramtala reservoir, remodeling work of canals, remodeling lining of Kranti reservoir and Devsara canals and expansion of new canal. Irrigation capacity is proposed in 2 thousand 686 hectare in this work. In which thousands of farmers of nearby 17 villages will get direct benefit.
On the request of Pandariya MLA, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had announced proper irrigation expansion including remodelling, lining and new canal expansion of other canals including the much-awaited irrigation of farmers, Jalkranti Reservoir. Within two months of the Chief Minister’s announcement, administrative approval of Rs 43 crore 81 lakh 24 thousand has been received for canal related construction works. Under this, 43 crore 81 lakh 24 for the construction work of diversion scheme in Half river and feeder and top work of Ramtala reservoir, remodeling work of canals and remodeling, lining and canal expansion work of Kranti reservoir and Devsara reservoir in Pandariya assembly constituency. Administrative approval has been received for Rs.
Remodeling work of canals, lining and expansion of canals will benefit farmers
Villagers and farmers of the surrounding areas will be benefited by the construction work of diversion scheme in Half river and feeder and head work of Ramtala reservoir, remodeling work of canals and remodeling, lining and expansion of canals of Kranti Reservoir and Devsara Reservoir in Pandariya assembly constituency. After the works, the shortfall of 931.24 hectare in 121 hectare in designed irrigation will be fulfilled. Irrigation can be done in a total area of 2686.13 hectare including 828 hectare by construction of new minor canal and irrigation in 137.13 hectare additional area by saving water.
