Chief Minister attended the 51st Annual Conference of the All India Council of Mayors

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today attended the 51st Annual Convention of the All India Council of Mayors. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the mayor should work towards making his municipal corporations financially self-reliant. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that the role of mayor is most important in municipal corporations. The mayor is the real leader of the city, the better the mayor works in coordination with the governance, administration, citizens and his team, the more successful he is known as the mayor, the more beautiful his city is. Surely all of you must be doing better and better in your respective cities. He said that I am proud to say that in Chhattisgarh also our mayors have achieved many achievements at the national level by performing very well.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that in Chhattisgarh, we have created a better system in the urban bodies so that people do not have to wander to solve their problems. Under our Ward Office Scheme they can register complaints and get solutions in their wards only. We have started Mukhyamantri Mitan Yojana by simplifying the procedures related to civil services. Under this, home access facility of 13 types of civil services is being provided. We are continuously trying to take this number to 100. Describing the utility of cow as a source of income to the mayors, he said that Raipur, Durg, Electricity generation has been started from cow dung in Gothan of Bemetara. The Chief Minister said that attractive painting work is being done in the corporation headquarters building with the paint made from cow dung. He requested the mayors to inform about the innovations of their cities and said that they would get the new works of innovations done in the municipal corporations of the state. He said that in Chhattisgarh, the amount of mayors and councilors including honorarium of their funds has been increased to speed up development works in the interest of the city.
The Chief Minister invited guest mayors to the Chief Minister’s residence for food on August 28. He said that in Chhattisgarh, the amount of mayors and councilors including honorarium of their funds has been increased to speed up development works in the interest of the city.
On this occasion, Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar also said in his address that the whole country is appreciating the Chhattisgarh model. In this program, the President of the Council, Agra Mayor Shri Naveen Jain, former Madhya Pradesh Minister and General Secretary of the Council Shri Umashankar Gupta, Raipur Rural MLA Shri Satyanarayan Sharma, Raipur North MLA Shri Kuldeep Singh Juneja, Corporation Chairman Shri Pramod Dubey and different parts of the country.
