Bilaspur. In view of the increasing number of cyber crimes in Chhattisgarh, the High Court has once again asked for immediate appointment of cyber experts in the state. The next hearing has been scheduled for March 20 and the central government has been directed to submit the information about the appointment on the same day.A PIL has been filed in the High Court over the absence of any expert of electronic evidence in the state. During the hearing last month, the bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Kumar Sinha and Justice Ravindra Kumar Agarwal had said that this is a matter of serious concern. Cyber crimes are happening continuously, so appointment of experts is necessary. He directed the central government to take appropriate steps for immediate appointment.During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioner told the court that the central government has appointed experts at 16 places across the country. At present, no cyber expert has been appointed in Chhattisgarh. The court said that under section 79 of the IT Act, there is no examiner of electronic evidence in the state. On this, the court had directed the respondents to make the appointment to this post. On Monday, the counsel for the center told the division bench of the Chief Justice that the appointment of the cyber expert has not been done yet, for this the information of the court’s order has been sent. The court said that the appointment of the cyber expert should be done at all costs. By the next hearing, this information should come as to which cyber expert has been appointed.
