The state government has canceled the posting amendment order after promotion of more than 4000 teachers in the School Education Department. After the investigation report and recommendations submitted by School Education Minister Ravindra Choubey to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister has given orders related to this. This is the biggest action in the promotion and posting amendment order issued in June-July. Earlier, on the basis of preliminary investigation, the department had suspended 10 officers including 4 Divisional Commissioners.

Bhaskar’s investigation revealed that large-scale transactions had taken place in the amendment order. This has been confirmed in the investigation of the department itself. Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh were charged for each amendment. On the other hand, before canceling this amendment order list, the government had filed a caveat in the High Court so that even if the teachers went to the court against the government order, the government’s side should be heard first. However, the order to cancel the list has not been made public yet. But its discussion has created a stir among the teachers. Significantly, the Chief Minister himself is keeping an eye on this episode.

Only after his order, the department had sought information about promotion and posting amendment orders from the joint directors of the divisions and the investigation was expedited. In June-July, the joint directors had hidden the posts of urban areas in the counseling held during promotion. After promotion in remote areas, amendment orders were issued for urban areas by taking Rs 1 to 1.50 lakh. In this case, action can also be taken against DEO and Babus. Till now it is being called a scam of Rs 400 crore.

After the coordination of the Chief Minister, investigation was conducted at the departmental level. Irregularities have been found in the investigation. JD does not have the power to issue amendment orders. Action has been taken against them. Now orders have been issued to cancel the posting amendment list.- Ravindra Choubey, Minister, School Education
