After the disclosure of 2000 crore liquor scam by ED in Chhattisgarh, Congress has now accused the erstwhile Raman government of 4400 crore liquor scam. Congress communication department head Sushil Anand Shukla, spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur and general secretary Ravi Ghosh alleged in the press conference that the country’s biggest organized excise scam took place during the Raman government.
Corruption of 4400 crores was done in connivance with the contractors. He alleged that the rules were changed to benefit the contractors. The conditions of liquor license were also changed, while OSD Samund Ram Singh was appointed by the Raman government for a long time against the rules.
The Congress told in its press conference that between 2012 and 2017, under the high-level protection of the government in the state, due to benefiting the liquor traders and commission of crores, without following the norms, their product was declared in the category of IMFL i.e. Indian Made Foreign Liquor. Including high profits were given to the contractors in the sale of liquor and Corruption was carried out by selling liquor at high rates and taking commission of several hundred crores. The Congress alleged that Raman Singh had used his special Officer Samund Ram Singh was kept working as OSD in the Excise Department, going against the rules even after retirement, giving him continuous service extension for 9 years and at the behest of the government, the officer executed a scam worth thousands of crores.
Samund Singh absconded after resigning from the government
Congressmen told that in the year 2018, OSD Samund Singh, posted on contract, absconded after resigning on the second day of formation of the Congress government in the state. After complaining about this corruption with documents to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, he handed over the investigation of the matter to the EOW. After which action was taken by raiding 8 locations of Samund Singh on 26th April 2019 and EOW had committed the crime and sent him to jail after presenting the challan in the court, after which the case is continuing in the court after the bail was rejected by the Supreme Court. .
Demand for investigation against Raman Singh, Amar Aggarwal and Ganesh Shankar Mishra
Communications chief Sushil Anand Shukla said that an attempt is being made to defame the Congress government while the big scam happened during the Raman government but why is the ED not showing the courage to investigate. In this matter, the Congress has demanded an inquiry against former Minister Raman Singh, former Excise Minister Amar Aggarwal, former IAS and currently BJP against Ganesh Shankar Mishra. He has talked about taking the then Excise Commissioner and Excise Minister under the ambit of investigation, calling it an organized scam.
