Bilaspur. The court has sentenced three accused to life imprisonment and fine in the case of kidnapping and murder of the minor son of an auto dealer in Tarbahar area of the judicial capital two years ago. 15-year-old Mohammad Rehan, a resident of Tarbahar, had gone to a grocery shop at Khudiram Bose Chowk, Deepupara to buy chips after taking money from his mother on February 6, 2022 at around 5.30 pm. During this time, Abhishek Dan, a resident of Tarbahar, Sahil alias Sheebu Khan of Devnagar Koni and Ravi Khandekar kidnapped him
When Rehan did not return home till late night, his family started searching for him and lodged a missing report at Tarbahar police station. At around 11.30 pm, Rehan’s father Mohammad Asif received a call from Rehan’s number on his mobile. The accused demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. After this, the police traced the accused with the help of cyber cell and arrested Abhishek Daan. After interrogation, the police also arrested his two accomplices, Sahil and Ravi.
The accused told the police that they had strangled Rehan to death and had stuffed the body in a sack and hidden it under a bridge near Madanpur on the Ratanpur highway. The police recovered Rehan’s body from the place mentioned by the accused. After hearing the case, the district court has sentenced the three accused to life imprisonment and fine.
