A letter has been written to the central leaders regarding the benefits of reservation and air service to the tribals of the state. This letter has been written by former CM Dr. Raman Singh. He has written a letter to Union Minister Amit Shah urging him to replace the Mahar/Mehra/Mehar castes of Chhattisgarh, who have been deprived of reservation since 1992, in the list of Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Castes.

It has been written in the letter that the delegation of the society has submitted a memorandum to replace the Mahara/Mehra caste with Mahar/Mehra/Mehar in simple number 33 of Chhattisgarh State Scheduled Caste List. The population of Mahara community in Bastar division is more than 6 lakhs, who have been deprived of reservation since 1992.

The State Government recommended proposal dated 07.12.2021 to include Mahara, Mahara community in the list of Scheduled Castes as synonyms of Mahar, Mehra, Mehar. 10.01.2022 and 28.01.2022, and according to the procedure, the Registrar General of India and the National Commission for Scheduled Castes have examined the proposal and agreed.

In which the Government of India Gazette dated 18.12. According to 2002, the previous Madhya Pradesh government has given recognition to keep Mahar, Mehra, Mehar, Mahara in the category of Scheduled Castes. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been demanded to direct the Bill to be introduced in the Parliament after discussion on the proposal in the context of Article 341(2) of the Constitution of India.

Demand for air facility for the people of Bastar
