Chhattisgarh EV Policy 2022: Chhattisgarh approves its electric vehicle policy, know how much you will benefit

Chhattisgarh has become the new state in India to ratify its electric vehicle policy. The state government on Thursday announced its EV policy. During the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh EV Policy 2022 (Chhattisgarh EV Policy 2022) was approved. The aim of the policy is not only to increase the number of electric vehicles on the roads, but also to develop the state as an EV manufacturing hub in the coming days.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Under the policy, the government has set a target of five years and 15 per cent of new registrations of vehicles for personal use or commercial use as EVs by 2027,” the statement said.                                                                                                                                                                                                                Chhattisgarh EV policy will be applicable for both commercial (commercial) and non-commercial (non-commercial) vehicles. The EV policy has approved waiver of registration fee and road tax for all electric vehicles. The policy proposes full exemption from road tax tax on all electric vehicles purchased during the first two years from the date of its official implementation. However, buyers will get 50 per cent rebate in road tax if they buy an EV after two years of policy launch. If the electric vehicle is purchased after five years of the introduction of the EV policy, there will be a 25 percent discount.                                                                                                                                      he state government will provide 25 percent capital subsidy to selected energy operators on charging equipment/machinery up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakh per station for the first 300 fast charging stations commissioned in the state                                                                                                                                              The state will also offer SGST reimbursement for EV manufacturers in the state till 2027. The government will also offer SGST reimbursement to companies for battery swapping technology. There will also be 100% SGST reimbursement on the sale of electric buses and other electric commercial vehicles if registered in Chhattisgarh. The state government will also encourage setting up of EV charging stations in government and private buildings.
