MP Congress has announced Nari Samman Yojana to empower women. Under this, all the women will be given Rs 1500 per month as Nari Samman. Besides, gas cylinder will be given for Rs 500, 100 units of electricity will be given free and 200 units of electricity will be given at half rate. There is talk of bringing such a scheme in Chhattisgarh. A sub-committee has been formed for women.
Congress had formed a three-member subcommittee headed by Hema Deshmukh to bring women’s issues into the manifesto. This subcommittee has discussed with women across the state and taken their suggestions. This time the number of women voters in the state is more than that of male voters, which is why political parties also have full focus on half the population.
Three meetings of the committee have taken place so far
The manifesto committee has held 3 meetings so far. State in-charge Kumari Selja also attended the meeting held in the month of September. After this meeting, the final meeting can now be held till October 25, after which the Congress Party will release its manifesto. More than 4500 suggestions have come so far.
To know the thoughts of the people, Congress had sought e-mails and direct suggestions. They will include such suggestions which the party will like in their manifesto. For this, Congress had issued an e-mail ID on which people can send their suggestions. So far, more than 2500 suggestions have come through e-mail. Around 1800 suggestions have been received through hard copy.
Chhattisgarh Manifesto Committee member Idrish Gandhi said that opinion polling is going on. The manifesto is being prepared focusing on all sections of the state. The promises of Congress will be such that they can be fulfilled after the formation of the government. Therefore, the decision will be taken only after studying all the aspects.
