Chhattisgarh: Bangladeshi brothers linked to suspicious activities, ATS took them on remand again, arrested from Mumbai airport last month

Important information came to light during investigation of foreign contacts

ATS investigation has revealed that the three Bangladeshi citizens used to have long conversations with suspicious people from different countries. Their call details revealed that they were in contact with many numbers from Syria, Iraq, Vietnam, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. These three were constantly communicating with foreign numbers through the IMO app. In this case, Chhattisgarh ATS has sought full details of their conversations from Interpol.

He was arrested from Mumbai airport

Let us tell you that the three arrested brothers have been identified as Mohammad Ismail (27 years), Sheikh Akbar (23 years) and Sheikh Sajan (22 years). All of them reached Mumbai on 26 January 2025 by Howrah-Mumbai Mail train with the help of fake documents, from where they were trying to go to Baghdad (Iraq). Police and ATS got information about this conspiracy in time and Raipur Police and ATS team reached Mumbai. There, with the help of Mumbai ATS, all three were arrested from Pydhuni area on 8 February.

Indian identity was maintained with the help of fake documents

During the arrest, Indian passport, Aadhar card, PAN card, voter ID and Baghdad visa were recovered from the three. During interrogation, they told that they were going to stay in Baghdad on the pretext of Ziyarat (religious journey) and had no intention of returning to India.

While living in Raipur, these three had got fake Aadhar cards, PAN cards and voter IDs made with the help of Mohammad Arif. There was a fear of getting caught after the implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC), so they got fake certificates made for date of birth and also got fake mark sheets prepared to hide their identity.

ATS is conducting a detailed investigation, report has been sought from Interpol

ATS is now investigating this entire case in depth. The call details and chat history of the suspects are being scrutinized. Many big revelations can happen after getting the details of the conversation from Interpol. According to sources, the involvement of more people can be revealed in this case, against whom action can be taken soon.
