Cheating of Rs 70 lakh on the pretext of insurance policy in Raipur: 14 accused arrested from Delhi, money was taken from retired deputy manager

The police of capital Raipur has taken major action in the case of cheating a person of Rs 70 lakh on the pretext of insurance policy. Raipur Police has arrested 14 accused from Noida, Delhi and brought them to Raipur.

The victim, a resident of Sanjay Nagar Raipur, lodged an FIR in Tikrapara police station that in the year 2016, persons named Ramakrishna Verma and Punit Joshi had cheated him by calling him from different numbers. The swindlers had asked him to get a new insurance policy in place of the old one.

Cheating by promising good returns

Also, the swindlers had promised him good returns on the money he would receive at the time of retirement. After that, the thugs prepared fake documents and collected Rs 70 lakh from the victim by making transactions in 5 different banks from the year 2017. When the victim demanded the money back from him, he switched off his mobile number.

As soon as information about this incident was received, Raipur SSP instructed Tikrapara Police and Anti Crime Unit officers to search and arrest the accused, after which the police team was dispatched from Raipur.

In this case, the police arrested Ravi Chauhan, Manjesh Kumar, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Divya Kumar, Rishabh Chauhan, Nitish Kumar, Neeraj Singh, Tarak Biswas, Vineet Kumar, Monu, Nazim Mansoori, Ranjit Kumar, Mohnish Bawankar, Arun Singh from Noida of NCR. Has been arrested by the police. According to the police, there will be many more revelations in the interrogation of the accused.
