, Balrampur. Ramanujganj police has arrested an accused in the case of cow slaughter under Ramanujganj police station of the district. The accused had prepared to kill the cows, cook their meat and eat it. Based on the information of the informer, the police conducted a raid and succeeded in seizing the cooked meat. An accused involved in cow slaughter has been arrested. The search for the other accused is ongoing.
Ramanujganj police said that the accused had organized the circumcision ceremony of his son at home in village Chhatwa. In the circumcision program, there was preparation to cut a calf of the house, cook it and eat it. The remaining remains were buried by the accused in the ground inside his house. As soon as Ramanujganj police got information about this, they conducted a raid on the spot.
Police recovered cooked beef and its remains from inside the house on the spot. Police took action under the Animal Cruelty Act and arrested an accused. The search for the other accused is going on. While giving information, the veterinarian who reached the spot said that the remains found inside the house are the remains of cows.
