BJP candidate from Raipur Lok Sabha seat Brijmohan Agarwal has set a new record of lead in Chhattisgarh. Brijmohan has maintained his lead over his rival Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay from the first round itself. Even before the counting ended, he broke the record of former BJP MP Sunil Soni. In 2019, Sunil Soni defeated Pramod Dubey by 3 lakh 48 thousand 238 votes.
An interesting fact is that Brijmohan won the election by a margin of 575285 votes. Whereas Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyay could get only 475066 votes i.e. less than that margin.

Vijay Baghel broke his own record
In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate from Durg Vijay Baghel has also registered a big lead. He defeated Congress candidate Rajendra Sahu by 4 lakh 38,226 votes. Vijay Baghel has become MP from BJP for the second time. When he contested the elections in 2019, he got 8 lakh 49 thousand 374 votes. He defeated the then Congress candidate Pratima Chandrakar by 3 lakh 91 thousand 978 votes.
Bhupesh Baghel lost the election from Rajnandgaon seat
Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel, who is contesting against BJP candidate Santosh Pandey in Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat, is trailing by 44 thousand 411 votes. Till 9:30 pm, Santosh Pandey had got 712057 votes and Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel had got 667169 votes. After the results coming out to be negative, it is difficult to say whether Bhupesh’s stature will increase or decrease in the organization.
Saroj Pandey’s defeat, what will be the effect on her stature
Saroj Pandey was made the candidate by BJP from Korba Lok Sabha seat. As soon as she became the candidate, Saroj Pandey announced to get work done in Korba district from her MP fund. But the voters of Korba expressed their trust in the current MP Jyotsna Mahant instead of Saroj Pandey. Time will tell whether Saroj Pandey’s stature will increase or decrease after the defeat, but many leaders of BJP along with Congress are said to be happy with her defeat.
Chintamani Maharaj became the choice of voters

Congress candidate from Korba Lok Sabha seat Jyotsna Mahant is leading BJP’s Saroj Pandey by 43283 votes till 9:30 pm. Jyotsna got 570182 votes while Saroj Pandey has got 526899 votes till now. Jyotsna is on her way to win the Lok Sabha elections for the second time. She is the most educated in the party. After the second victory, Jyotsna’s stature in the party is expected to increase.
Biresh Thakur lost for the second time, NOTA got more votes than the margin
Congress candidate Biresh Thakur, who was trying his luck for the second time from Kanker Lok Sabha seat, lost again. He lost to his rival BJP candidate Bhojraj Nag by 1884 votes. Bhojraj Nag got 5 lakh 97 thousand 624 votes and Biresh Thakur got 5 lakh 95 thousand 740 votes.
Biresh alleged that 1800 postal ballots were rejected and demanded a recount. However, Bhojraj Sahu was later declared the winner. In 2019 too, Biresh Thakur was the Congress candidate from Kanker. In this election, he lost the election to his rival Mohan Mandavi by 6914 votes.
Interestingly, NOTA got 18669 votes in Kanker Lok Sabha seat, while the margin of defeat of Biresh was 1884, which was almost 10 times less than the total votes of NOTA.
Kamlesh Jangde won by exactly 60 thousand votes
BJP candidate Kamlesh Jangde has won from Janjgir-Champa Lok Sabha seat by exactly 60 thousand votes. She has got a total of 6 lakh 78 thousand 199 votes. She has defeated former minister and Congress candidate Dr. Shiv Dahria. Dahria got 6 lakh 18 thousand 199 votes. The interesting thing is that the last number of the total votes of both is 199.
Four leaders who lost from Durg contested from other parliamentary constituencies
The leaders who lost the most in the Lok Sabha elections were from Durg district. All four leaders contested the election outside Durg i.e. from other parliamentary constituencies. Congress fielded former CM Bhupesh Baghel from Rajnandgaon parliamentary seat where he lost. Former Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu tried his luck from Mahasamund but could not win.
Similarly, Devendra Yadav, who was elected MLA from Bhilai Nagar for the second time, was fielded by the Congress from Bilaspur. But with the tag of an outsider candidate, he did not get the support of the voters and he lost. The BJP fielded former MP from Durg and senior party leader Saroj Pandey from Korba, but amid the noise of being an outsider, she too could not win the election.
