Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that new rail lines, railway flyovers and other infrastructure are being rapidly expanded with an investment of Rs 41,000 crore for the upgradation and development of railways in Chhattisgarh. 100 percent electrification of railways has been completed in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for strengthening the rail connectivity of Chhattisgarh. He has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh has got the gift of unprecedented rail projects. These projects will take the development of the state to new heights and better rail facilities will be available to the public.
Due to better coordination between the state government and the central government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, a historic initiative of rail network expansion is being taken in Chhattisgarh. This will not only improve passenger facilities but will also promote industrial, mineral and economic development. Railway network expansion in Chhattisgarh will not only accelerate passenger transport but also the export of mineral wealth and industrial products. This will promote trade and investment in the state.
For the long-term development of railways in Chhattisgarh, work is going on on many new railway projects like Raoghat-Jagdalpur, Dharamjaygarh-Lohardaga and Kharsia-Naya Raipur-Paramalkasa. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has said that Chhattisgarh has received a historic railway budget under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will give a new dimension to the state’s economy, industrial development and passenger facilities. Expressing gratitude to the central government for this, he has said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to take this development journey further.
It is worth mentioning that under Raoghat railway line, Dallirajhara-Antagarh (77 km) section is operational, passenger trains have started running. Extension work till Raoghat is in progress, which will supply iron ore to Bhilai Steel Plant and provide affordable transport facility to villagers. Similarly, under K.K. rail line doubling, 148 km out of 170 km work has been completed. This will improve the connectivity of Bastar and Dantewada districts. Movement will become easy and goods transport will become convenient. The length of Dongargarh-Kawardha-Katghora rail line project costing Rs 4021 crore is 295 km. Its construction will increase mineral transportation, passenger facilities and employment opportunities. Korba-Ambikapur new rail line will give direction to new development in Surguja region. Rs 12.25 crore has been approved for the survey of Gadchiroli-Bijapur-Bacheli 490 km long project. Sardega-Bhalumuda double line will improve rail connectivity between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
