Government gave the first Vande Bharat train to Kerala
Kochi, 25 April 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express train to Kerala. Apart from this, he inaugurated the country’s first water metro service. Modi laid the foundation stone of the Digital Science Park in Thiruvananthapuram and inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects.
The PM first reached Thiruvananthapuram station at 11 am and flagged off the Vande Bharat Express train between Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod. This train will cover 11 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. PM also inaugurated rail electrification of Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad section.
He then laid the foundation stone of the country’s first Digital Science Park in Thiruvananthapuram. The total cost of this project is 1515 crores. In the first phase, Rs 200 crore will be spent on it. Apart from this, the PM also inaugurated the country’s first water metro service. The metro built in Port City Kochi will connect Kochi City to 10 nearby islands.
