Dhamtari. You might have seen birthdays of humans being celebrated, but the Sinha family in Chhattisgarh celebrated the birthday of a calf with great pomp and show. Babulal Sinha’s family in Sorid ward of Dhamtari organized a birthday celebration of a cow calf on Sunday. People were invited by printing invitation cards for this. A cake was cut in the evening. Guests who came to this birthday celebration gave gifts. People danced a lot on this occasion as well. The Sinha family had arranged food for about 300 people. People who came to the program said that they had seen birthdays of humans being celebrated, but this is the first time they are seeing a calf’s birthday being celebrated in this way.
The family of Babulal Sinha, a resident of Dhamtari, considers their cow as a part of their family. They serve it day and night. The family members take good care of it. On March 23, the family celebrated the birthday of the cow’s calf in a unique way, which is being discussed everywhere. Just like special preparations are made on the birthday of a small child, the same was done on the birthday of the calf. The family members printed invitation cards and organized a Ramayan Mandal along with Satyanarayan Katha.
A cow was found injured on the road, given a new life after treatment
Babulal Sinha tells that he found a cow on the road, it was very young then. It was attacked by dogs, due to which it was badly injured. He brought the cow to his home by carrying it in his lap and got it treated. He gave it a new life by taking good care of it. The same cow gave birth to a calf. Special preparations were made to make the calf’s birthday memorable. Just like human birthdays are celebrated, in the same way preparations were made to celebrate the calf’s birthday in his house.

Babulal Sinha told that to celebrate human birthdays, first invitation cards are printed and given to relatives. Similarly, to make the birthday of the cow calf special, we distributed invitation cards among relatives and in the neighborhood. The program started from the morning of Sunday, i.e. 23 March. First of all, Satyanarayan Katha took place. At 7 o’clock in the evening, the cake of the calf was cut. After this, the Ramayana group gave their program. Food was arranged for the guests. Many types of dishes were made, from kheer-puri, vada. Their purpose is that everyone should serve the cow.
Santoshi said – we now have two daughters in our house
Babulal’s wife Santoshi Bai Sinha said that she now has two daughters. One is her own and the other is a cow’s calf. She has named the cow Lakshmi and the calf Radhika. She further said that she brought new clothes for Radhika and Lakshmi and also made them wear ghungroos. The people of the locality also seemed very happy to celebrate Radhika’s birthday. The people living in the neighbourhood said that they are seeing a cow calf’s birthday being celebrated for the first time in their lives. It is a very good idea. Everyone together made the birthday of the cow’s calf memorable.
